West Withy Farm is a small cluster of 4-star self-catering cottages on the eastern edge of Exmoor, set in a secluded, tranquil spot near Wimbleball Lake. The cottages are dog-friendly and comfortably furnished for relaxed country stays, with Upton Cottage, a converted haybarn sleeping five, among them. Surrounded by open farmland with wide, uninterrupted views, it's a genuine digital-detox base: quiet, dark, and rich in wildlife, from red deer to Exmoor ponies. On the edge of the Exmoor Dark Sky Reserve, it has near horizon-to-horizon visibility and grounds set up for the night sky, with a telescope plinth in the garden and telescopes to hire on site.
