Overview
Cedar is a cosy one-bedroom cottage for two at Newhouse Farm Cottages, a family-run collection of nine converted Grade II listed stone barns set in 30 acres of gardens, organic fields and woodland in the heart of mid-Devon. Tucked between Beech and Larch, it keeps a country-cottage feel while being bright and well appointed: an open-plan lounge, dining area and well-equipped kitchen downstairs, and a spacious king bedroom with dressing area and en-suite upstairs. A child's bed can be added, so it suits a couple or a small young family. Guests share a courtyard garden with barbecue and have access to the site's indoor heated pool, sauna, games room and play areas. It's a peaceful rural base with Exmoor to the north and Dartmoor to the south, both within easy reach.

Stargazing guide
Newhouse Farm is an accredited Exmoor National Park Dark Sky Friendly Business, and its rural mid-Devon setting means very little light pollution. On a clear night thousands of stars, planets, the International Space Station and even the Milky Way are visible, and the owners provide stargazing advice and resources as part of the accreditation. The site sits between two dark-sky landscapes: Exmoor, England's first International Dark Sky Reserve and home to the darkest skies in the country, lies a short drive north, with its self-guided Dark Sky Discovery Trail and Dunkery Beacon viewpoint.
