Shepherd’s Hut

The Shepherd's Hut at Argoed Barns is a handcrafted, luxury bolthole built to Amanda and her family's own specification, and the attention to detail shows in every inch. Inside you'll find a full-length bed (no crunching up here), oak floorboards, sheep's-wool insulation, underfloor heating that reaches even the wet room, and a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings. A drop-leaf oak table sits beneath triple windows, and the hut was deliberately winched into position so that its largest window looks out towards the Brecon Beacons, the window over the bed gazes up across the field to a majestic oak, and the stable door frames Hay Bluff and the Black Mountains. Outside, a private hot tub, a swing seat on the decking, a pizza oven, a BBQ and a fire bowl make the most of the far-reaching views. Each morning a continental breakfast hamper is delivered to your door. Available year-round (except Christmas), this is a romantic, grown-up escape, though sadly not one for dogs.
